Now You Know You Need It
Sometimes I get frustrated that we’ve been unable to upgrade certain technology, even after centuries of experimentation and advancement. The umbrella is one such timeless object. How long has that basic concept been around?
We’ve made them tiny, we’ve given them plastic shields, but essentially they remain cloth spread on a stick, and our feet still get wet. The umbrella is mostly about vanity.
That’s why it was so exciting to spot this concept. If the singular umbrella is lacking, trying to navigate an umbrella for two persons is always a laughable prospect.
There’s a reason important celebrities have an umbrella-holder: someone has to make the sacrifice and get more wet. Someone paid, or someone waiting for sex.
This design, found here, demonstrates the wonder of human innovation and the limitless lengths to which our imagination can take us.
With the double umbrella, one person’s arm will still ache, but both can remain marginally out of the mutant killer rain.
